About Ohnyx

2012

Richard Oh started Ohnyx from a home office with his brother Jono, on a simple idea: IT support that's personal, straight up and a step ahead. They moved clients onto Microsoft 365 early, so when much of the industry spent the early 2020s shifting businesses off their own servers, Ohnyx clients were already there. The name joins Richard's surname to the Onyx, his favourite ship in Eve Online.

2025

Philip Harvey bought the business he already worked in. A lot has changed since, including how the company is structured, but the spirit of the business has not. Your support comes from our own team in New Zealand, never offshore. You deal with people who know you by name, and we don't put AI where the conversation should be between people.

Today

Sixteen people in Masterton and Wellington, supporting clients anywhere in New Zealand, remotely or in person. The advice is business-minded and in plain English, from people who know you and how your setup runs. Good IT people choose to work here: our team includes people who came from larger IT firms to join us.
