Uber’s dream to put fleets of self-drive cars on the road hit a speedbump late last month when a test-Uber collected a Honda CRV at 61km/h while driving through an orange light
JPEG: smaller sized images
Google has released a JPEG encoder called ‘Guetzli’ that promises to shrink an image's file size by up to 35% without losing any perceivable picture quality. The key word here is ‘perceivable’– Guetzli-compressed JPEGs will contain less detail but the loss is imperceptible to the human eye. The real benefit of this comes when uploading JPEGS to the internet. Smaller files = faster download times. According to some, claims that there is no detail loss are a bit grand. But, others suggest it improves picture quality.
We’re currently undecided but we like the concept. You can read more about this here.
